Fossil Fish - On Matrix
Name: Diplomystus or Knightia .
Location: Kemmerer, Wyoming, Green River Formation
Age: Eocene 56 Million Yr. Old
This fish is from a new batch I have sourced, and they are by far the highest quality fossil fish I have EVER found.
They have stunning detail and you can see pretty much every bone.
Some fossil fish you can buy are very poorly detailed, and hard to make out from the matrix.
Not so with these. They sit on their matrix beautifully and if you had the skills could mount them in a frame they would make an amazing wall display!
The fish measures 7cm nose to tail.
On a flat matrix measuring 8.5cm across at its widest point
