A bold and highly unusual Fordite pendant necklace, made using a rare and fascinating material formed from layers of paint.
This pendant is made using Fordite from a Jeep Wrangler factory in the USA and has the bright, sometimes metallic colours so familiar with the car.
Fordite — sometimes known as “motor agate” — is created when layers of paint build up over time, originally in car factories and now also from other sources. When cut and polished, these layers reveal vivid bands of colour, often resembling natural gemstones.
Even the front and back of the necklace is different as you can see from the images!
This piece has been carefully cut and polished to reveal the internal layered structure, creating a striking and eye-catching design.
The pendant measures approximately 3.5cm top to bottom and is supplied on an 18 inch sterling silver chain, making it a vibrant and wearable piece of modern jewellery.
