  • Description

A bold and highly distinctive pair of solid silver Fordite cufflinks, made using a rare and fascinating material with a unique industrial origin.

Fordite — often known as “motor agate” — is formed from layers of paint that built up over time in automotive factories. When cut and polished, these layers reveal vivid bands of colour, creating striking patterns that resemble natural gemstones.

Each cufflink features a Fordite cabochon set in custom-made solid silver settings, carefully finished to highlight the incredible layered structure of the material. The colours and patterns are completely random and unrepeatable, meaning every pair is truly one of a kind.

This particular pair is made using high-quality USA Fordite, cut by a specialist lapidary to bring out the strongest colour contrast and patterning.

The cufflinks measure approximately 2 cm across, making them a bold yet wearable accessory — perfect for adding a splash of colour and individuality to formal wear.

These are not traditional gemstones, but a rare and sought-after modern material, combining automotive history with jewellery craftsmanship.
