This is a lovely slice of petrified or Fossil Wood
It comes from Madagascar and dates from the late Jurassic - roughly 75-60 Million Years ago.
The slice is beautifully coloured with an incredibly varied range of colouration and amazing textures coming from the original wood.
It has been skilfully cut and polished in Madagascar - and would make an exquisite display fossil in any home.
The slice measures 10cm across at it's widest point - and is roughly 13mm thick.
Thicker than average for these slices
