  • Description

A sleek and highly wearable fossil Mako shark tooth pendant, featuring a genuine prehistoric tooth with a clean and classic profile.

This pendant is made using a real Mako shark tooth, most commonly from the extinct species Isurus/Carcharodon hastalis, dating from approximately 5–20 million years ago. These sharks are closely related to modern great whites and are known for their smooth-edged, spear-like teeth, designed for speed and precision hunting.

Unlike serrated species such as Tiger or Bull sharks, Mako teeth are typically slimmer and more streamlined, giving them a sharp, elegant appearance that works particularly well in jewellery.

Each tooth is completely natural, having fossilised over millions of years. During this process, the teeth develop their own unique colours and surface textures, meaning no two pendants are ever identical.

The tooth is simply mounted using silver plated wire and supplied on an 18 inch sterling silver chain, creating a clean and versatile piece that suits both everyday wear and gifting.

Typically measuring around 2.5–3 cm, Mako teeth strike a perfect balance — more refined than large statement teeth, but still visually strong.

A simple, authentic and highly collectable piece of prehistoric fossil jewellery.
