A delicate and highly unusual pair of fossil crinoid earrings, set with genuine prehistoric fossils and finished in sterling silver.

These earrings feature real crinoid stem fossils, dating from the Jurassic period (approximately 170 million years ago) and collected in France.

Crinoids are marine animals often known as “sea lilies”, due to their flower-like appearance. They lived anchored to the seabed, using their feathery arms to filter food from the water. While crinoids still exist today, these specimens come from ancient species that lived millions of years ago.

The fossils display a distinctive natural star-shaped pattern, formed from the internal structure of the crinoid stem. This gives each earring a unique and eye-catching appearance.

Each fossil is completely natural, with subtle differences in pattern and tone ensuring that every pair is entirely unique.

The crinoids measure approximately 9 mm across and are mounted in custom sterling silver stud settings, creating a simple and wearable design that allows the fossil to take centre stage.

This is a beautifully subtle piece of fossil jewellery — combining natural history with clean, elegant craftsmanship.
