This really is a stunning ammonite slice.
It is a slice from a Cretaceous ammonite that has been naturally pyritised and left with the hollow chambers coated with a sparkling layer of 'Fools Gold'
The slice measures 5.6cm and really is a stunning and VERY unusual fossil
This is very slighly smaller than the other one we are offering, but has a richer and more sparkling pyrite layer.
NB - The exposed edge is slightly chipped as shown in the extra image but the sparkle more than makes up for this.
