This is one of the prettiest pieces of Fordite jewellery I have made to date.
I have set a teardrop shaped cabochon of Fordite into a solid silver setting.
The Fordite Pendant measures 3cm x 1.2cm wide
This has then been strung from an 18 inch solid silver snake chain. A lovely thick shiny chain that sets the stunning Fordite off a treat!

Fordite is a beautiful substance, but neither natural nor old.
Fordite is actually built-up paint residue from the paint-shops at Ford car plants.
I am NOT joking!
It really is the most beautiful substance, and when cut and polished it reveals the coloured layers of paint that have built up on the floors and walls of the paint shop.
