'Cookie-shaped' fossils point to multicellular life
I'm sure most fossil fans are aware of Stromatolites and other VERY early forms of life, but it appears that even earlier forms may have been discovered.
As with the arguments over possible Martian life contained in the meteorite find ALH84001 ascertaining whether discoveries actually ARE the remains of organised ancient life is still an issue.
It could be that they are merely aggregates of bacterial forms and nothing more.
Fascinating read though and I am keen to learn more.
