I have had SO much interest in my Fordite jewellery I have decided to give it a page of it's own.
It is already pretty well stocked and there will be more pieces to come!
Fordite is such an unusual and beautiful substance that it deserves a wider audience.

First Show Of The Year
My first big craft show of the year will be on the 1st and 2nd of May
It will be an unusual event called the Green Walk Open House
Basically in an arty area in Whalley Range, Manchester the whole street is given over to a two day art event.
The stallls set up in the residents houses and visitors wander through the houses, looking at all the wares on sale.
There will be food stall set up outside too, making it a lovely little event.

FULGURITE PENDANTS BACK IN STOCK.
These were very popular when I last stocked them and I have now managed to source some new Fulgurites.
A fulgurite is an incredible object created from desert sand which has been blasted by a bolt of lightning!
This is a very unusual pendant made from a fulgurite strung from an 18 inch solid sterling silver curb chain.
A fulgurite is an incredible object created from desert sand which has been blasted by a bolt of lightning. When the lightning hits the sand it melts it into twisted, forking tubes which then quickly solidify. Fulgurites are very fragile and generally break up when they are excavated. It is very rare to extract pieces more than an inch or so.
When you hold this pendant you will get an idea of the terrifying power of nature!
A beautiful object to own and a guaranteed talking point when out with friends.....

The market is in St Clements Church Hall off Edge Lane, Chorlton between 1am and 4pm
It should be a great event with 40 stalls selling all sorts of crafts and potential Christmas presents!

TRINITITE FOR SALE - NEW SPECIMENS ADDED
I have just added a good new selection of Trinitite samples.
These are the most amazing substance and were created by the HUGE forces at work on the site of the Trinity Atomic bomb tests in 1945 in the USA.
It is basically lumps of molten rock and sand that was blasted by the Trinity Atomic Bomb tests!
Collecting of this material has long been banned from the site and it is INCREDIBLY rare material.
To my knowledge I am the only UK seller to have any Trinitite ( I challenge you to find some elsewhere!)
I have supplied it to the legendary Science Museum in London, as well as SLAC a famous Nuclear Research laboratory in the USA.
Please do check it out. It really won't be available for long......!

THE NEW JURASSIC JEWELLERY WEBSITE IS ONLINE!!
After many weeks of work, and not a little gnashing of teeth, the new website is finally online.
Hopefully it will be much easier to use, and easier on the eye!
Please do let me know what you think, or if there are any problems.
The whole backend system is much more modern and it should be easier to both navigate, and make purchases. Every order is sent securely and quickly as before. I promise to keep you informed about your order at every stage as I always do.
One thing I have just added is a TESTIMONIALS page.

Webshop Checkout Problem.
I have found a few technical problems with the checkout on the webshop using certain browsers - Firefox specifically.
It may be that you find the secure checkout button won't let you complete the ordering process.
I have found that it works perfectly using Internet Explorer so if you would like to place an order please use this and not Firefox until I have resolved the problem.
I am working hard and hope to resolve the problem within a day or so.
If you still have any problems please just email me and I can invoice you directly.

CRAFT FAIR
Buxton Pavilion Gardens
25th and 26th July 2009
I will have my biggest ever stall at the two day Craft Fair in the Buxton Pavilion Gardens.
I had a stall there last year and found it was the most delightful location, snuck in the middle of some truly lovely gardens.
if you have never been to Buxton you are missing out!
Come along and see mine and all the other stalls.
As well as LOADS of jewellery, I will also have lots of fossils and meteorites. There will be lots of new pieces including some never before seen meteorite rings!

Chorlton Arts Festival
For any Mancunians - as over the last 3 years I will have a stall the Craft Fair at Chorlton Arts Festival tomorrow - Saturday 16th May
The show starts at 11 am, and ends at 4pm, and is at St Clements Church Hall - at the corner of Edge Lane and St Clement's Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester.
This is my first show of the year so will be the first chance to see loads of the new pieces of jewellery I have been busy making.
it is a totally free show with dozens of sellers and a huge variety of craft goods.
There will also be live music and dance.

Buxton Jewellery Fairs
I am excited to confirm that I am booked in to stalls at the Buxton jewellery fairs in June and October.
I had a stall last year and it was a great success.
If you haven't been to the Buxton Pavilion Gardens I can assure you it is one of the most beautiful sites in the country. The show itself is located in a stunning art deco building and set in gorgeous gardens, complete with miniature train, lakes and rivers.

I am very proud to announce that a piece of Jurassic jewellery has been chosen for a feature in the best selling Astronomy magazine in the UK - SKY AT NIGHT.
They have featured a pair of solid silver cufflinks inset with real iron meteorite.
These have proved very popular and are flying off the shelves.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I would like to wish all my customers and potential customers a Happy New Year!
I have a long list of plans for Jurassic Jewellery in 2009 and now the Christmas rush is over I can spend some time making them a reality...
I have loads of new products planned, and plenty of other improvements. One of these is to improve the travelling Jurassic Jewellery roadshow.
I love selling at shows and fairs, but haven't got my stall as impressive as i would like it. I have lots of amazing fossils and meteorites from my personal collection and would like to show these off at shows.
I have some lovely things -such as a piece of rock from Mars that I would like to show my customers!
One problem is the amount of space you are given at shows and it is often tricky to fit as much stock as you would like.
I will be working hard to update my stall so I can fit in everything necessary for a stall I can sell from - AND be proud of!
I have updated my blog with some amazing new claims about a meteorite causing a SECOND extinction.

If you are worried about getting your purchase before Christmas just email before you order and request NEXT DAY Special Delivery.
This shouldn't be a problem for any order and should only add a few pounds to the shipping charge.

Impact Day - Cambridge - UPDATE
I had a lovely day at the very first 'Impact Day' in Cambridge.It was held at the world famous Institute of Astronomy and organised by friend and fellow BIMS member David Bryant.
The day was a chance for the public to learn more about meteorites and meteorite impacts and featured talks by some of the most knowledgeble experts in the country.
I had a stall with all my meteorite jewellery and a few meteorites so didn't get to see the talks but was told they were very well received.
My stall was opposite the BIMS stall. As a founder member I know all the members there very well, but have never actually met them. It was lovely to finally meet the Chairman and secretary - Mark Ford and Dave Harris and spen the day chatting and eyeing up each others meteorites!
The day was a great success - and it was super to see so many people with a love of meteorites!
I spoke to many visitors during the day but special thanks must go to a customer of mine Lewis - and his mum Sage. They travelled all the way from Brighton for the show and also found time to stop by and chat with me.

IMPACT DAY
I am looking forward to having a stall at the first IMPACT DAY 2008
This is the very first public show for BIMS - the UK and Irish Meteorite Society.
There will be a superb selection of talks from some of the top meteorite experts in the UK.
One highlight will be the appearance of Dr Caroline Smith - Curator of Meteorites at the Natural History Museum in London.
She hit the News across the World recently due to her involvement in the musuem buying the Main Mass of Ivuna - a very important meteorite that may well give us clues to the creation of the Solar System.
I'm sure she won't be bringing that rock with her ( Unless VERY well insured!) but I'm sure she will talk about it.
The show is at the World famous Institute of Astronomy on the edge of Cambridge, and looks like being a superb day for all.
AND IT IS TOTALLY FREE to enter!

Shop Rebuild
I have nearly finished a complete rebuild of the shop!
I know there have been a few technical problems lately and have been working REALLY hard to resolve and improve the website. I hope you agree it is looking better now!

BEECH ROAD FESTIVAL - Chorlton, Manchester
I would just like to say hi to everyone who stopped by to say hello at Beech Road festival yesterday.
Amazingly the weather wasn't too bad. It started out pretty horrible but eventually the sun poked out and in the afternoon it was lovely.
It was lovely to have a stall on Chorlton green and to see everyone having a lovely time on the grass.
